Welcome to our Governors’ section.
The Governing Body are a friendly group made up of people from a variety of backgrounds. The school governors are representative of parents and staff, the LA and the local community.
As we are a small Governing Body, we do not feel that it is appropriate to report on personal information relating to diversity. At South Wootton Junior School, we believe that when people feel respected and included, they can be more creative, innovative and successful. While we have more work to do to advance diversity and inclusion, we are working to move our School forward.
School Governors have an important role to play within the school. In accordance with the Government's requirements for all governing bodies the 3 core strategic functions of the school's governing body are:
Full Governors’ meetings are held every half term. Minutes and Agendas of all Governors’ meetings are available for any parent to inspect at the school, during normal school hours, upon application to the Headteacher. The Chair of Governors is elected annually, at the first full Governors’ meeting of the school year, in the Autumn Term.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor. We have also provided a Register of Governor Interests and an Annual Statement of Issues for your information.
