The school’s curriculum promotes a thirst for knowledge and understanding, and a love of learning. Hence, at home we encourage our children to take ownership of their learning by deciding what they wish to study. The school provide children with some suggestions for homework linked to learning in class but children can choose which ones to complete in a range of creative ways. New activities and challenges are given each half term. We celebrate the work they choose to do on the display board in the entrance hall. In addition to the suggested homework tasks, children are also expected to learn spellings and times tables at home and to read every day. The school subscribes to an online learning hub called Education City which allows children to practice key skills at home. The children have a username and password for this site stuck inside their home school books. Parental support with homework is most welcome and is regarded as being of great importance.
Current homework can be found on the Class Pages under the 'Children' tab.
This year your child will have 10 spellings each week to learn. We are trying to make learning spellings fun by giving them a range of activities to select from. We ask that your child selects one of the activities each day to practice their spellings (the same activity can be chosen more than once).
